To Design after Nature, or the Life, you must be removed from the Object, three times Magnitude; taking care as you draw each roke, to observe what parts of your†Modeleet under the Principal, or Perpendicular ne.

† The Model is generally taken for any Natural Object at presents it self to be drawn; in particular, it fignis a Statue. Nudity, or the like, set up in the Acade mies, to be Copied by the Novices in Painting.
